After founder Barbera Marcus realized there were just not enough videos
out there which were educational as well as entertain, she and her
husband came up with products that will keep your child's attention.
In November 2002, the Barbera's first video titled "Baby Prodigy" was released. Soon followed a book and DVD. "My inspiration to make this video came from my own personal experiences with my daughter, Samantha. When Samatha was born, she had colic and screamed for hours at a time. All I wanted was something to calm her down. My husband and I started buying videos, music and toys." She started her research and found a surprising number of studies documenting a relationship between stimulation and intelligence and happiness, therefore incorporating her findings into her products.
Surprisingly the CDs are not any other baby CD. They are jam-packed with upbeat, sweet sounding rhythms and sounds. When I got the CD my son and I listened to it for hours on end. He bounced around, laughed and was a much calmer baby (he didn't throw his toys around in frustration from being seated in a walker!). The tunes are familiar classical orchestral melodies from composers such as Haydn, Schumann, Bizet, Bach, Beethoven and more so you know you're baby is listening to the best of the best! Studies have shown that rhythms, beats and melodies of classical orchestral works beneficially stimulate a baby's mental and physical functions.
To compliment the CDs, Baby Prodigy also offers award winning DVD & videos that will entertain and educate your tot. They will learn activities that foster stimulation through play using every day objects. I love the fact that some of the same tunes on the CDs are repeated in the DVD so your baby will learn to make the connection. The DVD features fun little games of find and search, puppets, twirling toys and lots more!
