To prevent tarnish, keep it in a closed jewelry box or in the box it arrives in when you're not wearing it. Mine tarnished a little because I left it out for a few days as I took a trip to the coast with my family. Upon arriving home I just swiped the chime with a treated silver polishing clothe that I had on hand and the chime looked just like new!
